Welcome to the Sports Gride. This site is dedicated to improving sportmanship and coaching and bringsyou articles focused mainly on youth sports issues.

While raising my kids I made several observations about sports and especially youth sports. I've had sons with concussions, severely broken arms, and broken spirits. I've also had sons and daughters that learned to be better people on and off the field because of great coaching. I hope that the few articles that I have to share will help you with your child's sports experience or help you become a better coach.

Winning is fun, but it's not the ultimate goal for youth sports. Develop their outer strength and their inner strength and go from being an ok coach to being a great coach.

Read that sentence again. I know there are a ton of people that will disagree. They think winning is everything and that their kid is going to make a fortune on some professional sports team. Or, at the very least, get a full ride to the school of their choice. I wish them the best.
